Western Herbalism 101

An Introduction to Plant Medicine

Whether you are a budding herbalist or looking to brush up on your herbalism skills, this weekend program offers a comprehensive introduction to Western Herbalism. Explore key topics such as bioregionalism, herbal nutrition, and holistic health, while learning about the uses, medicinal properties, and propagation techniques for over 30 different herbs. You will also gain hands-on experience, sampling each herb and crafting your own herbal preparations, including tisanes and tinctures.

Upon completion, you will have the option to further your herbal education and learn how various herbs affect specific body systems in our Foundations of Western Herbalism series.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Become aware of the basic foundations, history, and lineage of Western Herbalism

  • Learn the basic principles, preparations, applications, and precautions in herbal medicine making

  • Learn botanical names, folk names, harvest principles, and medicinal applications of 30 commonly used western herbs

  • Instill a sense of holistic being and living that compliments cohabitation with man, earth , and being

  • Gain a better understanding of bioregionalism, what it means, and how to actively apply

  • Basic growing principles for many Florida bioregional medicinal plants

  • Immerse into the world of herbal medicine

- Lineage and history of Western Herbalism
- Basic biodynamic principles and bioregional medicinals
- Plant Spirit medicine and relationships
- Basic herbal medicine making and application
- Wildcrafting and safe harvesting practices

Western Herbalism 101 Class Dates

All classes are Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm

Here are the available options for Western Herbalism 101.

You only need to attend ONE weekend class to meet all 101 course requirements.

***Western Herbalism 101 is a prerequisite for starting Foundations of Western Herbalism***

Tuition- $300 (includes textbook and medicine making supplies)

Virtual registration must be completed, and shipping paid for, at least one week before the class start date if a student wishes to receive herbs to use during class.

Cancelling up to three days prior to class, refunds are available with a 5% deduction, or payment is transferable to future classes.
